Nandyal Member of Parliament Byreddy Shabari addressed a youth conference in Nandyal on Wednesday, emphasising that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre has placed skill development and employment generation among its top priorities. Speaking to a large gathering of young attendees, Shabari said that significant industrial investments are already reshaping the economic landscape of the Rayalaseema region, which historically has been one of the more underdeveloped areas of Andhra Pradesh.
The MP pointed to a wave of new factory and manufacturing projects coming up across the district and surrounding areas, noting that these ventures would create thousands of direct and indirect jobs over the coming years. He urged young people in the region to take advantage of government skilling programmes and vocational training initiatives that have been rolled out under central schemes.
Rayalaseema, comprising districts such as Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa and Nandyal, has long faced challenges related to water scarcity, limited industrialisation and outmigration of educated youth seeking work in other states. Shabari acknowledged these difficulties but argued that the current policy direction is beginning to yield tangible results, with infrastructure projects and industrial corridors receiving greater attention from New Delhi.
He also highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in accelerating development, saying that the state and central governments are working together to make the region more attractive to investors. The MP called on local youth to acquire market-relevant skills in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, construction and information technology to remain competitive in the changing job market.
The youth conference, organised as part of broader outreach efforts by the parliamentary office, saw participants from several districts of Rayalaseema attend and share their aspirations and concerns with the MP.
