Corrections Policy

TheNEWS* uses AI-assisted summarization to produce articles (see our Editorial Standards). Like any automated process, mistakes can happen - a detail summarized inaccurately, a fact misstated, or a story misclassified. We take these seriously and want to make them easy to report and quick to fix.

How to report an error

If you spot a factual error, a misattributed source, or any other problem with an article, please contact us with:

• A link to the article in question
• A description of what's incorrect
• If possible, a link to a source that supports the correction

What happens next

We review every correction request we receive. Confirmed errors are corrected directly in the article. For factual errors that materially change the meaning of a story, we note that a correction was made and when.

Original source errors

Since our articles summarize reporting from other publishers, an error may originate in the source article rather than in our summary of it. Where that's the case, we'll note it and link to the original source's own correction if one is published, in addition to updating our own summary.
