PlayStation Studios and Insomniac Games have revealed new details about the climactic boss fights awaiting players in their upcoming Marvel's Wolverine title, one of the most anticipated superhero video games in recent years.

According to gameplay footage shared online, the Sentinel Prototype boss encounter takes place near the end of the Madripoor chapter, marking one of the most demanding combat sequences in that portion of the game. The fight is split into two distinct phases, each presenting unique challenges that test a player's mastery of Wolverine's claw-based combat system. In the first phase, which runs for roughly the first three minutes of the encounter, players must work to knock off the massive robot's heavy armor plating before its vulnerable weak points are exposed. Once enough armor is stripped away, the second phase begins around the three-minute mark, shifting the battle dynamics entirely and requiring players to exploit newly opened attack windows while dodging the Sentinel's devastating counterattacks.

Strategy guides for the fight emphasize the importance of the Knee Breaker skill, which helps players build up a stagger bar more quickly when attacking the Sentinel's lower body. Successfully staggering the massive mech opens up critical opportunities for massive damage output, potentially turning the tide of one of the game's toughest encounters.

Meanwhile, IGN reports that the Telambang portion of the game concludes with the Omega Red boss fight, described as the main component of the so-called "Last Meal" mission. Omega Red, a classic Marvel villain known for his carbonadium-coated tentacles and brutal close-quarters fighting style, presents a fundamentally different challenge from the mechanical Sentinel earlier in the game. The contrast between facing a hulking mechanized enemy and a super-powered mutant assassin showcases the variety of combat encounters built into the title.

These boss fights represent the kind of high-stakes encounters that fans of the superhero gaming genre have been eager to see implemented with the depth and polish Insomniac is known for, following the critically acclaimed reception of its Spider-Man titles.

Marvel's Wolverine is expected to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 consoles in late 2026.
