At the heart of both new models lies the company's newest custom silicon: the A20 Pro chip. Built on an advanced process node, Apple says the A20 Pro delivers remarkable performance gains over its predecessor while maintaining energy efficiency. The chip is designed to handle demanding tasks such as pro-level video editing, complex augmented reality experiences, and intensive AI-powered features on-device without lag.
Perhaps the most notable hardware upgrade is the camera system. Both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max feature a 48MP Fusion main sensor equipped with a variable aperture — a first for Apple's Pro lineup.
