The West Bengal State Civil Service Commission (WBPSC), acting on behalf of the West Bengal Police recruitment process, has released the long-awaited interview schedule for the Constable post for the 2026 cycle. The notification comes after weeks of anticipation among thousands of aspirants who appeared for the preliminary written examination conducted earlier this year.
Candidates who secured qualifying marks in the written test and were shortlisted will now be called for the interview and physical efficiency test rounds. The commission has also made the call letters available for download on its official portal, enabling aspirants to check their personalized schedules, reporting venues, and timing details.
According to the official notice, shortlisted candidates must appear for the interview along with their original documents and a printed copy of the call letter. The selection process for the Constable post involves multiple stages, beginning with the written examination, followed by the interview or personality test, and in some cases, a physical efficiency test depending on the category and nature of the posting. The marks obtained across these stages are combined to prepare the final merit list.
This recruitment drive is one of the largest police staffing exercises in the state, with thousands of vacancies expected to be filled across various districts in West Bengal. The constable-level positions are crucial for maintaining law and order and strengthening grassroots policing in both urban and rural areas of the state.
