Under the WBCS (Executive) cadre, successful candidates are typically appointed to roles such as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Deputy Collector, Superintendent of Police, and other key district-level administrative positions. These officers form the backbone of governance at the block and district levels across the state, making the examination one of the most sought-after competitive tests in eastern India.
Candidates who wish to apply must meet the eligibility criteria set by the commission.
