Dehradun — The Uttarakhand state government has officially kicked off its largest recruitment exercise in recent years with the release of a consolidated jobs notification for 2026, promising employment opportunities to thousands of job seekers across the hill state. The announcement, made through the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) and several departmental portals, covers vacancies in healthcare, school education, law enforcement, revenue administration, and engineering services.
According to the notification, over 15,000 posts have been identified for filling across various departments, making it one of the most significant public sector hiring drives in the state's history. The recruitment spans multiple categories including permanent appointments, contractual positions, and direct recruitment through competitive examinations.
The education department has the highest number of openings, with over 7,000 vacancies for primary teachers, high school instructors, and special educators across government schools in districts ranging from Udham Singh Nagar to Chamoli. The health department follows closely with approximately 2,500 positions for nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, and medical officers. The Uttarakhand Police has also announced around 1,800 openings for constables, sub-inspectors, and supporting staff.
Eligibility criteria vary by position, with most roles requiring a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Age relaxations have been provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per state government norms. The application window is expected to remain open for approximately six weeks, with online submissions accepted exclusively through the official UKPSC portal at ukpsc.nic.in and department-specific recruitment websites.
Candidates are advised to carefully review the detailed notification for subject-wise eligibility, examination patterns, and document verification requirements before submitting their applications.
