The Uttar Pradesh state government has issued a significant recruitment notification for 16,998 Anganwadi worker posts spread across 24 districts of the state. The position of Anganwadi worker is among the most sought-after government jobs at the grassroots level, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas of Uttar Pradesh. These workers serve as frontline functionaries of the government's maternal and child health program, responsible for providing supplementary nutrition, pre-school education, immunization support, and health check-ups to children under six years of age and pregnant and lactating mothers in their allotted anganwadi centres.
According to the recruitment guidelines, candidates who have passed the 12th standard from a recognized board are eligible to apply. The selection process is expected to involve a written examination followed by document verification, though final details regarding the exam schedule and application procedure will be released by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission or the relevant department in due course.
The 24 districts covered under this recruitment drive represent a mix of urban, semi-urban, and rural regions across Uttar Pradesh.
