The diplomat offered prayers before the towering idol and described the grand atmosphere surrounding the celebrations as "absolutely incredible."
The visit drew significant attention, with crowds gathering to catch a glimpse of the American envoy participating in the devotional rituals. Ambassador Gor was seen offering traditional prayers, lighting lamps, and soaking in the devotional fervor that defines the Lalbaugcha Raja experience every year.
Lalbaugcha Raja, located in the Wadala area of South Mumbai, is widely regarded as the largest and most popular Ganesh idol in the city. Often referred to as the "Queen of Festival," the idol has become a cultural landmark that draws devotees from across India and abroad. Since the 1930s, it has set the benchmark for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, inspiring the tradition of installing elaborate public Pandals across Mumbai and beyond.
