The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced that today marks the final deadline for candidates to submit online applications for the Pharmacist Recruitment 2026 notification. A total of 560 permanent positions have been notified for filling vacancies in various government hospitals, primary health centres, and medical facilities across the state.
The recruitment drive was initiated to address chronic staffing shortages in pharmacists within Uttar Pradesh's public healthcare infrastructure. Many remote and rural health centres have been operating without qualified pharmacy staff for months, affecting the dispensing of medicines and patient care. The commission stated that the newly recruited pharmacists will be posted at sub-district hospitals, community health centres, and other government medical institutions.
Candidates holding a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognised institution are eligible to apply. The selection process will be based on a written examination followed by document verification. Age relaxation provisions applicable to reserved categories under UP government rules will also be extended to these posts.
UPSSSC officials emphasised that no extension to the application window is being considered, and candidates who have not yet applied are urged to complete the process immediately. The commission's official website will remain open only until midnight, after which the portal will close automatically. Candidates are advised to upload all required documents, including photographs, signatures, educational certificates, and caste certificates where applicable, well in advance to avoid last-minute technical difficulties.
This recruitment represents one of the largest pharmaceutical staffing drives undertaken by the state in recent years and is expected to provide employment opportunities to thousands of pharmacy graduates across Uttar Pradesh.
