The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially announced the recruitment of 1,308 veterinary pharmacists across the state for the year 2026. The notification was released by the commission to fill vacant positions in veterinary dispensaries and hospitals operating under the state's animal husbandry department.
The recruitment drive aims to strengthen veterinary healthcare services in rural and semi-urban areas of Uttar Pradesh, where access to animal health services remains a critical concern for farming communities. Veterinary pharmacists play a vital role in managing pharmaceutical supplies, dispensing medicines, and supporting veterinary doctors in diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Eligible candidates must possess a recognized qualification in veterinary pharmacy or pharmacy as per the norms specified in the official notification. The UPSSSC has laid down age criteria consistent with state government recruitment rules, with applicable relaxations for reserved categories. Candidates are required to meet the educational and age requirements before submitting their applications through the commission's official portal.
The selection process is expected to include a written examination followed by document verification. Candidates who clear the merit list will be posted at veterinary dispensaries and hospitals spread across different districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The commission has emphasized that this recruitment is part of the state government's broader initiative to improve animal healthcare infrastructure, which directly supports the livelihoods of millions of farmers and pastoral communities in Uttar Pradesh. With over 60 lakh livestock owners depending on veterinary services statewide, the addition of more qualified pharmacists is seen as a significant step toward bridging the existing gap in veterinary care delivery.
