The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially notified the recruitment of 7,994 candidates for the post of Lekhpal across the state. The online application window has now opened, and aspirants can submit their forms through the commission's official portal.
Lekhpal is a crucial grassroots-level position in the Uttar Pradesh revenue department, responsible for maintaining land records, conducting field surveys, and assisting in the administration of rural revenue operations. The role is highly sought after due to its stability, direct recruitment through a competitive exam, and the wide geographical coverage it offers across the state.
According to the notification, candidates who have passed any graduate degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply. The age limit has been set at 21 to 40 years, with standard relaxation applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per Uttar Pradesh government norms. The application fee varies depending on category — general category candidates are required to pay a higher fee, while candidates from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and other backward classes are entitled to concession or complete waiver.
