The Uttar Pradesh Police Department has officially launched the online registration process for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors across the state. The massive hiring drive will fill 9,534 positions that have remained vacant due to retirements, promotions, and expanded policing requirements in the country's most populous state.

The recruitment notification was released by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, which oversees staffing decisions for the state law enforcement agency. Candidates can apply through the official portal of the recruiting body, where they will need to register themselves, fill in personal and educational details, upload required documents, and pay the prescribed application fee.

Eligibility criteria mandate that candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. There is an upper age limit, though relaxations are available for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms. The selection process typically involves a written examination conducted by the board, followed by physical efficiency tests, document verification, and a medical examination.

This recruitment drive represents one of the largest single-state police hiring exercises in recent years. The sub-inspector rank serves as a crucial entry-level leadership position within theUP Police hierarchy, granting holders authority over police stations and significant law-and-order responsibilities.

Officials stated that the vacancy numbers reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen rural and urban policing infrastructure. Analysts note that filling these positions promptly could improve response times and community policing initiatives across districts that have historically faced staffing shortages. The final merit list will be prepared based on combined written exam scores and physical test results.
