The recruitment wave for aspiring law enforcement officers in India has officially begun, with two of the country's most populous states announcing major police hiring drives for 2026.

Uttar Pradesh Police Board (UPPB PB) has opened online applications for the recruitment of 32,679 constable posts across the state. The vacancy represents one of the largest single police recruitment exercises ever conducted by any Indian state. Aspirants can register on the official portal at uppbpb.gov.in. The notification has been issued following the recommendation of the board to fill positions across various districts of Uttar Pradesh to strengthen state policing.

In parallel, Madhya Pradesh has also announced its own recruitment drive. The Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), through the Employees Selection Board of Madhya Pradesh, has initiated online applications for 504 sub-inspector posts. Candidates interested in applying for the MP Police SI positions can register at esb.mp.gov.in.

The UP Police constable recruitment is expected to draw lakhs of applicants from across the country. Uttar Pradesh, being India's most populous state, consistently runs large-scale police hiring to meet its staffing needs. The selection process for UP Police constable typically involves a written examination, physical efficiency test, and document verification stages.

The MP Police SI recruitment, though smaller in scale, is highly competitive given the stature of the sub-inspector position in the state police hierarchy. Sub-inspectors play a critical role in district-level law enforcement and investigation.

Both notifications are expected to include detailed eligibility criteria, age relaxations, and reservation details on their respective portals. Career experts advise candidates to regularly check the official websites for updates on application deadlines, admit card releases, and further recruitment cycle information.
