Uttar Pradesh Police has officially opened the online application portal for recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector, sending fresh hope to thousands of aspirants who have been waiting for the long-pending notification. The state government, through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC), announced that applications can be submitted online for a total of 9,534 vacancies spread across various districts and special branches of the state police force.
The Sub-Inspector is one of the most sought-after posts in state police services, offering both job security and a respectable position in the law enforcement hierarchy. Candidates who clear the preliminary exam, written test, physical efficiency test, and document verification will be appointed as Sub-Inspectors in different police districts across Uttar Pradesh.
The recruitment drive was originally held in earlier years but many positions remained vacant due to various procedural delays, legal challenges, and administrative bottlenecks. The current notification seeks to fill these accumulated vacancies in one go, marking one of the largest state police recruitments in recent memory.
Eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. The age limit generally ranges between 21 and 28 years for general category candidates, with relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per state government norms. The selection process typically involves a tiered examination system comprising a preliminary objective-type paper, a main written examination, a physical endurance and efficiency test, and a final interview or document verification stage.
The application window remains open for a limited period, after which no further forms will be accepted. Candidates are advised to carefully fill in all required details, upload necessary documents in the specified format, and retain a copy of the submitted application for future reference during subsequent stages of the selection process.
