The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the Hindu religious trust that administers the legendary Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, has initiated a new recruitment drive for its research wing—the Board of Indian Research, Religion and Dharma (BIRRD). According to the official notification, 30 permanent teaching posts are available at three academic ranks: professor, associate professor, and assistant professor. The trust invited candidates to apply offline by submitting hard-copy applications to its administrative office before the closing date of 16 March 2026.
Although TTD is primarily known for its vast spiritual and charitable operations, its academic and research subsidiary has been steadily expanding its faculty base over the past few years. BIRRD functions as the trust’s apex body for scholarly work in Sanskrit, Indic studies, theology, temple architecture, and related disciplines. The current recruitment push reflects the organization’s intent to strengthen research output and postgraduate teaching in these fields.
Salary scales for the selected candidates will fall between ₹74,750 and ₹292,423 per month, structured according to the UGC net/JRF guidelines applicable to central educational institutions. Higher-ranking professors will command the upper end of the pay band, while assistant professor posts will start at the lower tier. In addition to basic pay, successful recruits will be eligible for standard government allowances, medical benefits, and leave concessions.
Eligibility criteria will require candidates to hold a relevant doctoral degree or master’s qualification with a strong publication record, depending on the rank applied for. Age relaxations will be granted to reserved-category applicants as per existing government norms. The selection process is expected to involve a written test or presentation followed by a personal interview before a panel appointed by TTD authorities.
Applicants must deliver their completed forms and supporting documents in person or through registered post to the designated TTD recruitment cell in Tirupati. Shortlisted candidates will receive call letters for subsequent stages. The trust has urged aspirants to verify exact cut-off dates and syllabus details from the official recruitment brochure before submission.
