The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has officially announced the recruitment of 821 candidates for various Group 2 posts across the state, marking one of the significant public service hiring drives for 2026. The notification has been published on the commission's official website, tnpsc.gov.in, and candidates who meet the prescribed educational and age criteria can submit their applications through the online mode.
Group 2 positions under TNPSC typically include roles such as Junior Assistant, Stenographer, Clerk, and other administrative and supporting staff positions in various government departments throughout Tamil Nadu. These posts are considered among the most sought-after recruitment drives in the state due to the job security and benefits they offer.
The commission has laid down specific eligibility criteria for applicants. Candidates must possess a minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification. The age limit generally ranges between 15 and 32 years for general category candidates, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per state government norms.
The application process is entirely online, and aspirants are required to register on the TNPSC portal before filling in personal and academic details. A non-refundable application fee must be paid through the available online payment modes. Candidates belonging to reserved categories may be eligible for a concession in the application fee. The commission has also directed applicants to upload scanned copies of photographs, signatures, and supporting documents as per the specified format and size guidelines.
TNPSC Group 2 recruitment is conducted in phases. After the selection of applicants based on the written examination, candidates who qualify proceed to document verification and subsequent appointment processes. The recruitment cycle is expected to draw lakhs of applicants from across Tamil Nadu and neighboring states, making it one of the largest state-level government recruitment exercises each year.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official TNPSC website for updates regarding admit cards, examination schedules, result announcements, and any modifications to the notification.
