The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced a fresh round of recruitment under its Combined Talent Search (CTS) process, inviting applications for 170 posts. The recruitment notification was released recently, opening the door for thousands of eligible candidates across the state to apply for government positions.
The TNPSC CTS recruitment is one of the most sought-after exams in Tamil Nadu, conducted to fill various Group II and Group IV-level posts in the state administration. The latest notification brings a total of 170 vacancies across multiple categories and departments, marking yet another significant opportunity for job seekers in the state.
According to the official notification, candidates who have qualified the TNPSC CTS written examination in previous cycles but have not yet secured selection are eligible to apply through this interview-based recruitment drive. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews as part of the final selection process.
Eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, along with any additional subject-specific qualifications as mentioned in the official advertisement. The upper age limit for general category candidates stands at 32 years, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories — including five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates, and other concessions as per government norms.
The application process is entirely online. Candidates must visit the official TNPSC portal and fill out the application form with personal details, educational qualifications, and category information. A processing fee is applicable, though fee-free applications are available for candidates belonging to reserved categories. The window for submission typically remains open for around three weeks from the date of notification.
This recruitment drive comes at a time when youth unemployment and government job aspirations remain high in Tamil Nadu. TNPSC remains the primary recruiting body for state-level administrative and clerical posts, and its examinations attract lakhs of applicants every year. Employment officials note that the CTS process continues to serve as a critical pathway for educated graduates seeking stable careers in public service.
Candidates are advised to check the official TNPSC notification for complete details regarding post-wise vacancy distribution, interview dates, document verification schedules, and any updates to the application timeline.
