The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has officially released the recruitment notification for its Community Technical Services (CTS) cadre for the year 2026. The announcement confirms 461 vacancies across a range of technical and non-technical positions within various government departments in the state. The notification is now live on the official TNPSC website and opens the door for eligible candidates to submit their applications through the online mode.
The CTS recruitment drives are among the most sought-after examinations in Tamil Nadu, attracting lakhs of applicants each year who are looking for stable government employment with competitive pay scales and benefits. The positions covered under this cycle span several categories, including Group IV-level roles, and candidates with a minimum of a higher secondary education or equivalent qualification are typically eligible to apply. Specific posts may require additional diplomas or specialized technical training depending on the department's needs.
According to the official notification, the application window will remain open for a limited period, and aspirants are urged to complete their registration well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. The examination is expected to be conducted in two stages — a preliminary test followed by a main written examination — with separate cutoffs set for different reservation categories. Physical efficiency tests and document verification will form part of the final selection process for certain posts.
TNPSC has also released the detailed application fee structure, with a concession available for candidates belonging to reserved categories. Those who have applied earlier for TNPSC examinations may find the process relatively straightforward, but first-time applicants are advised to carefully read the official notification before filling out their forms. The commission has emphasized that any discrepancy or incorrect information provided during application submission may lead to disqualification.
