The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has officially released its Combined Technical Services (CTS) Recruitment Notification 2024, inviting eligible candidates to apply for a significant number of technical cadre vacancies across the state. The recruitment drive covers multiple Group I and Group II technical posts under the Combined Technical Services framework, making it one of the most anticipated government job notifications for engineering and technical graduates in Tamil Nadu.
According to the official notification, a total of 3,191 vacancies have been identified across various departments including Public Works Department (PWD), Municipal Administration and Water Supply, Health and Family Welfare, and other technical wings of the state government. The positions include Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer, Inspector, and other technical supervisory roles that form the backbone of Tamil Nadu's public infrastructure and service delivery systems.
The commission has laid down specific eligibility criteria for each post. For most Group I CTS positions, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university or institute, along with a minimum of two years of experience in the relevant field. For Group II technical posts, a diploma in engineering is considered sufficient, though degree holders are also eligible to apply. The age limit has been set at 15 to 40 years, with relaxations available for reserved categories as per Tamil Nadu government rules.
Applications for the recruitment are being accepted entirely through the online mode at the official TNPSC portal at tnpsc.gov.in. The notification period spans approximately six weeks from the date of release, during which candidates must fill out the application form, upload the required documents, and pay the prescribed application fee. The fee structure includes Rs 50 for General and OBC candidates and Rs 25 for SC, ST, and physically challenged applicants.
TNPSC officials stated that shortlisting for the written examination will be based on merit, and candidates who qualify will be called for the next phase of the selection process. The commission is expected to announce the admit cards and examination schedule in the coming weeks. Results for successful candidates will be published on the official website, and the selection process follows the standard TNPSC pattern of a written examination followed by document verification.
