The Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Department has initiated a major recruitment drive to fill 555 vacancies for the posts of Medical Assistant and Pharmacist/Dispenser across the state. The recruitment aims to strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas of Tamil Nadu. Medical Assistants will be posted at Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs), where they will assist doctors in diagnostic procedures, patient care, and health camp management. The Dispenser posts, intended for qualified pharmacists, will focus on medicine management, prescription fulfillment, and inventory control at government health facilities.
Candidates with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, X-Ray and Imaging Technology, or Operation Theatre Technology are eligible to apply for Medical Assistant positions. For the Pharmacist/Dispenser role, applicants must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy or a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from a recognized institution. The minimum age requirement is 17 years, with a maximum age limit of 32 years for general category candidates. Relaxation in age limit applies to reserved categories as per government norms.
The application process is entirely online. Candidates must visit the official website, register with their email ID and mobile number, and fill out the application form with personal, educational, and contact details. A non-refundable application fee of Rs 300 applies to general category candidates, while SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempted from the fee. The department has scheduled the selection process based on merit list preparation using marks obtained in qualifying examinations. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and final appointment proceedings.
