The Tamil Nadu National Health Mission has officially announced the opening of its annual recruitment drive for staff nurse positions, with a total of 4724 vacancies now available across various districts. The notification, released earlier this week, invites applications from eligible nursing professionals who wish to join the state's public healthcare system. Candidates holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or an Equivalent Diploma in Nursing from institutions recognized by the Indian Nursing Council are eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants must possess valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council or the respective state nursing council.
The selection process will be conducted through a merit-based written examination followed by document verification. Shortlisted candidates will receive call letters for the written test scheduled for later this month. The exam will focus on nursing fundamentals, patient care protocols, and general awareness related to public health. Successful candidates will be appointed as Staff Nurses in government hospitals and primary health centers throughout Tamil Nadu.
The recruitment aims to strengthen the state's healthcare infrastructure by filling critical vacancies that have remained unfilled due to prior administrative delays. Many rural and urban health facilities have been operating with understaffed nursing teams, affecting service delivery. This large-scale hiring is expected to significantly improve patient care standards and reduce workload pressures on existing medical personnel.
Candidates interested in applying can submit their forms online through the official TN NHM portal. The application window remains open until the last date mentioned in the notification. Aspirants are advised to carefully check all eligibility criteria and keep scanned copies of required documents ready before starting the application process.
