Each system is formulated and tested for particular use-cases, allowing contractors and homeowners to choose a product matched closely to their surface requirements rather than relying on a single generic coating.
In addition to product diversification, Simon plays a co-leading role in developing the Chinese technical standard T/CECS 10192-2022 for microcement. The standard outlines quality benchmarks, testing methods and safety guidelines for manufacturers and specifiers. Simon also holds EU CE certification for its wall and floor microcement products, a mark that is widely recognised as a baseline requirement for selling construction chemicals in European markets.
Microcement itself is a thin, polymer-modified cementitious coating applied in multiple layers to create a continuous, seamless finish on floors and walls. It has gained popularity among architects and interior designers because it can be applied over existing tiles, concrete or plaster without removing the old substrate.
