The Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB) on Tuesday declared the final result and category-wise cut-off marks for the Village Development Officer (VDO) recruitment examination conducted in 2021. The announcement marks the culmination of a long waiting period for lakhs of aspirants who had appeared for the competitive exam aimed at filling hundreds of VDO posts across Rajasthan.
The VDO, also referred to as Gram Sevaka, is a crucial grassroots-level administrative position responsible for maintaining land records, collecting revenue data, and implementing various developmental schemes in rural areas of the state. The recruitment notification for the 2021 cycle had invited applications from eligible candidates holding a graduation degree from a recognized university, with age relaxation provisions applicable for reserved categories.
The examination process included a written test followed by document verification, and the final merit list has been prepared based on the written exam scores. The board released the cut-off marks for each category — including General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS — which will serve as the benchmark for candidates shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process.
Candidates who have cleared the declared cut-off will now be called for document verification, after which final appointment letters are expected to be issued. The recruitment is expected to result in the appointment of several thousand VDOs across different districts of Rajasthan, strengthening the rural administrative framework of the state.
The RSMSSB has advised all successful candidates to keep their original educational certificates, identity proofs, and category certificates ready for the verification process. The board has also stated that the final result is subject to verification of documents and eligibility criteria, and any discrepancy found during the process may lead to cancellation of the candidature.
