Jaipur: The Rajasthan government's online employment portal, eJobMitra, remains a key initiative in bridging the gap between job seekers and employers across the state. Launched as part of the digital governance push by the state administration, the portal was designed to simplify the job search process for citizens, particularly those from rural and semi-urban areas who often lack access to reliable employment information.

The platform provides a centralized database of current job openings spanning various sectors, including government departments, public sector undertakings, and private companies operating in Rajasthan. Candidates can create profiles, upload their resumes, set preferences for specific job categories or locations, and receive notifications when matching opportunities become available.

Officials say the portal has been instrumental in reaching youth who might otherwise remain disconnected from formal employment networks. By digitizing the job-matching process, eJobMitra reduces the dependency on informal middlemen and exploitative recruitment agents who have historically preyed on vulnerable job seekers.

The state government has also integrated links to major national portals such as the National Career Service (NCS) and the Rozgar Mela initiatives, enabling users to access both state-specific and pan-India vacancies through a single interface. Periodic awareness drives and partnerships with district administrations have helped improve the portal's reach in remote regions.

Despite these efforts, officials acknowledge that website traffic and active registration numbers vary across districts, with urban centers like Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur showing higher engagement compared to more remote areas. Continued investment in digital literacy and localized outreach programs is being considered to address these disparities.
