The Government of Rajasthan has officially announced the recruitment of 600 Medical Officers across various districts of the state, marking one of the largest healthcare staffing drives in recent years. The notification was released by the Directorate of Health Services, Rajasthan, confirming the availability of these critical positions to strengthen primary and secondary healthcare delivery systems statewide.
Applications for the post have been invited online through the official portal of the Rajasthan Health Department. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria are advised to submit their applications without delay, as the online window is expected to close within the stipulated timeframe.
The recruitment notification outlines that candidates must possess an MBBS degree recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the earlier Medical Council of India (MCI). Additionally, applicants must hold a valid registration certificate with the Rajasthan Medical Council or any State Medical Council, which is mandatory for practicing medicine in the state. Final-year MBBS students or those whose registration is yet to be processed are not eligible to apply.
Regarding age eligibility, candidates must generally be between 21 and 40 years of age as per the standard criteria for medical officer positions in Rajasthan. However, upper age relaxations will be extended to candidates belonging to reserved categories, including Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Economically Weaker Sections, in accordance with the state government's existing reservation policy.
The selection process for these 600 Medical Officer positions will primarily be conducted through a written examination. Shortlisted candidates will appear for an objective-type test assessing their medical knowledge, clinical aptitude, and general awareness related to public health. Depending on the final merit list, candidates may also be required to undergo document verification before final appointment.
Salary details for the recruited Medical Officers will be provided as per the Rajasthan state government's pay scale for Group B non-gazetted officers under Level-7 or Level-8 of the 7th Central Pay Commission. This includes a basic pay range along with dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other applicable allowances, making it an attractive career opportunity for young medical professionals.
