Madhya Pradesh Police is set to launch one of its biggest recruitment drives in recent history, with 7,500 constable positions announced for the year 2026. Applications will open tomorrow, offering a major employment opportunity for youth across the state, particularly those who have completed their 8th and 10th standard education.
The recruitment notification indicates that the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), also known as Vyapam, will conduct the selection process. Candidates holding at least an 8th standard pass certificate are eligible to apply for certain categories of constable posts, while others require a minimum of 10th standard. This relaxed educational criterion significantly widens the applicant pool, potentially attracting thousands of aspirants from rural and semi-urban areas where higher education completion rates remain low.
Although the detailed notification has not yet been fully released, industry sources indicate that the selection will involve multiple stages — a written examination, physical efficiency test, and document verification. The physical standards, including height and chest measurements for male candidates and aerobic capacity tests, are expected to follow the norms previously prescribed for MP Police constable recruitment.
With over 7,000 openings, this drive represents one of the largest state-level police recruitment exercises in central India. Political observers note that such mass recruitment drives are typically announced ahead of electoral cycles, though officials maintain the decision is purely based on operational requirements and workforce shortages within the state police force.
Candidates are expected to apply through the official MPPEB website once the portal goes live. The application fee structure and age limits have not been officially confirmed yet, but candidates falling between 18 and 25 years of age are typically eligible for general category posts. Reservation policies for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and internally displaced persons will apply as per Madhya Pradesh state government norms.
