Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has moved forward with a significant recruitment drive to fill over 2,000 vacant positions under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme in the state. The notification was released by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Rajasthan, inviting eligible candidates to apply online for the posts of Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper.
According to the official notification, the vacancies are spread across multiple districts of Rajasthan. The state currently faces a substantial shortage of frontline workers who serve as the backbone of the ICDS program, which provides nutritional support, preschool education, and health services to young children and pregnant or nursing mothers.
The age limit for applicants has been set at 18 to 40 years, with reserved category candidates eligible for relaxation as per government norms. Applicants must possess at least a Class 8 or Class 10 pass certificate depending on the post they are applying for, and must have passed a basic computer course from a recognized institution.
The selection process will involve a written examination conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission or the designated appointing authority. The exam will test candidates on subjects including general knowledge, reasoning ability, mathematics at the middle school level, and basic awareness of the ICDS scheme and maternal child health programs.
Candidates who clear the written test will then face document verification. The appointment will be made on a contractual basis, and selected Anganwadi workers will receive a monthly honorarium along with other benefits as per the state government's guidelines for ICDS functionaries.
The official recruitment portal at wcd.rajasthan.gov.in has been activated for submitting applications. Candidates are advised to apply well before the last date to avoid technical glitches, as such portals often experience heavy traffic in the final days. Officials have emphasized that the recruitment aims to strengthen the delivery of essential child and women welfare services across rural and semi-urban areas of Rajasthan.
