New Delhi: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has issued a fresh recruitment notification for 2026, opening doors for thousands of candidates seeking government employment in the khadi and village industries sector. The commission has invited online applications for a range of posts spanning junior executive, assistant, technician, workshop supervisor and administrative roles across its regional offices and production units throughout India.
According to the official notification, the starting monthly salary for most entries will fall between ₹25,000 and ₹40,000, with higher remuneration offered to senior positions and those requiring specialized technical qualifications. The recruitment aims to strengthen the workforce of the khadi ecosystem, which continues to be a cornerstone of rural employment and indigenous manufacturing under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Candidates must possess at least a graduate degree from a recognized university, though certain technical vacancies may require a diploma or engineering qualification in relevant disciplines such as textile technology, mechanical, electrical or computer applications. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.
The selection process is expected to involve a computer-based written examination followed by a personal interview or skill test, depending on the post. Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification and medical fitness checks before final appointment.
Applications can be submitted exclusively through the KVIC portal at kvic.gov.in. Aspirants are advised to upload scanned photographs, signatures and supporting certificates in the prescribed format. The last date to file applications is 30 September, and candidates should complete registration well before the deadline to avoid server congestion.
The khadi sector employs over one million artisans directly and supports millions more in ancillary activities. Government recruiters emphasize that expanding KVIC staff will help modernize production, improve quality standards and widen market reach for handloom and village-industry goods. The recruitment also aligns with the national thrust on self-reliance and sustainable livelihood generation in rural and semi-urban areas.
