Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India's largest public sector undertakings in the banking sector, has announced a fresh recruitment drive for the post of Local Bank Officers (LBOs). The notification, which describes the positions as open to experienced candidates, was issued from the bank's corporate office in New Delhi.
The advertisement was released under the designation of Alok Nagia, Chief Manager-IT, along with Ramesh Krishnan, Manager-IT, indicating that the selection process will be managed through PNB's central administrative framework. Candidates interested in applying were directed to submit their forms to the corporate office located at Plot No.-4, Sector 10, New Delhi, Delhi - 110075.
Local Bank Officers are typically responsible for overseeing branch-level operations, managing customer relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and driving the bank's retail and priority sector lending targets at the local level. The LBO cadre serves as a critical mid-level management position within the organizational structure of public sector banks, often acting as a bridge between senior leadership and frontline staff.
This recruitment Drive comes at a time when several PSU banks have been actively filling vacancies across various officer-level positions to strengthen their operational capacity. PNB, which underwent a significant restructuring process in recent years following a major corporate fraud scandal, has been gradually restoring its lending pipeline and expanding its workforce to support growth objectives.
The bank continues to recruit through multiple channels including direct application drives and online portals. Interested and eligible candidates are expected to meet the prescribed educational qualifications, prior work experience requirements, and age criteria as outlined in the detailed official notification.
