The Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has officially released the admit cards for the Nursing Officer recruitment examination for 2026, clearing the path for thousands of candidates who have been waiting for their hall tickets. The commission made the documents available on its official portal, allowing aspirants to download their admit cards using their registration details.
The recruitment drive covers an impressive 5,989 vacancies across various government healthcare facilities throughout the state of Odisha. These positions are critical for strengthening the state's public health infrastructure, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas where qualified nursing staff remains in short supply. Candidates who applied online during the recruitment notification period will now find their names listed on the downloaded admit cards along with their assigned exam centres.
The written examination is scheduled to be held on September 22 and 23, 2026. Candidates are advised to check their individual allotment carefully, as the two-day schedule means different sets of applicants will be writing the test on different days. Admit cards typically carry details such as the candidate's name, application number, photo, exam centre address, reporting time, and the subjects covered in the paper.
OSSSC had previously announced the nursing officer vacancy in response to growing demand for qualified healthcare professionals in the state's hospitals and primary health centres. The selection process generally includes a written examination followed by document verification. Candidates are urged to carry their admit cards and a valid identity proof to the exam centre, as entry without proper documentation will not be permitted.
This recruitment represents one of the largest state-level hiring drives for nursing professionals in recent years and is expected to draw thousands of eligible candidates holding relevant nursing qualifications such as GNM and B.Sc. Nursing from recognized institutions.
