Bhubaneswar: Speaking to a gathering of government employees and job seekers in the capital, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stressed that a government position should be seen as far more than a means of earning a living — it is a chance to contribute meaningfully to society.
"A government job is not just a livelihood; it is a unique opportunity for public service," Majhi told the audience, urging fresh recruits to carry forward the spirit of dedication that has long defined Odisha's administrative tradition.
The remark came against the backdrop of rising competition for state-level recruitment drives. Odisha has been actively conducting examinations and interviews under the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) and the State Engineering Services recruitment process to fill vacancies across departments ranging from education and health to engineering and administration.
