NLC India Limited, the premier coal-mining public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, has announced a fresh recruitment drive for 2026 targeting the positions of Junior Overman and Mining Sirdar. NLC India, formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation, operates multiple mines across Rajasthan, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu, and is recognized as a Navratna enterprise. TheJunior Overman and Mining Sirdar roles are critical frontline positions in underground and opencast coal operations. A Junior Overman is typically responsible for supervising coal extraction activities, ensuring safety compliance on the mine floor, and coordinating with senior officials on daily production targets. A Mining Sirdar, on the other hand, assists in managing mine operations, monitoring workforce deployment, and maintaining records related to mine progress and safety protocols.

The offered salary package for these positions falls within the pay scale of ₹31,000 to ₹1,00,000 per month, which includes the basic pay along with grade pay applicable to the respective levels under the Central Government's pay matrix. In addition to the basic salary, candidates selected for these roles will be entitled to standard PSU benefits such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical facilities, and other allowances as per NLC India's prevailing policies.

Eligibility for the Junior Overman post generally requires a diploma or degree in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution, along with age criteria that typically ranges between 18 and 30 years with applicable relaxations for reserved categories. For the Mining Sirdar position, candidates usually need a minimum of an ITI certification in a relevant trade or a diploma in a technical field, subject to the official notification's exact wording.
