A 17-year-old Naga teenager was killed by unidentified armed assailants in Manipur's Tengnoupal district, marking yet another violent incident in a state that has been grappling with deepening ethnic hostilities. The victim has been identified as NK Wiphenbou, a resident of the area who was walking alone from Upper Nkou village toward the nearby town of Tamei when he was attacked.
According to local sources, the attackers opened fire on the teenager, firing approximately 20 rounds before fleeing the scene. The precise motive behind the killing remains unclear, though the incident has once again drawn attention to the volatile security situation in parts of Manipur where militant groups and ethnic tensions continue to pose serious threats to civilians.
