The Maharashtra Tribal Development Department, also known as the Adivasi Vikas Vibhag, has officially issued its 2023 recruitment notification for a total of 602 vacancies. Maharashtra houses one of the largest tribal populations in India, with over fourteen million people belonging to Scheduled Tribes, accounting for approximately eleven percent of the state's total population. The Adivasi Vikas Vibhag is the nodal agency responsible for implementing policies related to education, health, livelihoods, housing, and infrastructure in tribal-dominated regions such as Vidarbha, Konkan, Marathwada, and parts of the Western Ghats.
Eligibility criteria have been set with a minimum educational qualification ranging from secondary school completion to postgraduate degrees depending on the post, along with prescribed age limits and relaxations for reserved categories as per state government rules.
