The Maharashtra State Health Society under the National Health Mission (NHM) has released an official notification for the recruitment of 799 candidates to fill vacant positions across various public health facilities in Palghar district. The notification, widely circulated through the NHM Maharashtra portal and regional newspapers, covers posts such as Staff Nurses, Ward Boys, Data Entry Operators (DEOs), Pharmacists, Laboratory Technicians, and a range of other support and clinical positions.
Palghar, carved out as a separate district from Thane in 2014, has long faced a shortage of qualified health personnel in its rural and tribal areas. The new recruitment drive is expected to significantly bolster the district's public health infrastructure, which serves a predominantly tribal population spread across remote villages with limited healthcare access. Health officials stated that the appointments will be made on a contractual basis, with salaries and benefits governed by NHM guidelines.
Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens who meet the prescribed educational qualifications, age limits, and reservation criteria. The selection process will involve document verification and, where applicable, written tests or interviews conducted by the district health society. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will receive category-wise reservations as per Maharashtra government norms.
