In a significant move for jobseekers across Madhya Pradesh, the state's recruitment authorities have issued fresh notifications for two major revenue-service examinations in 2026. The Madhya Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Board (MPSSSB), operating through its portal at mpsssb.mp.gov.in, has published the official notification for the post of Naib Tehsildar, announcing a total of 106 vacancies. In parallel, the Madhya Pradesh State Engineering Board (esb.mp.gov.in) has released its recruitment advertisement for 200 positions of Patwari under the state revenue department.
Naib Tehsildar is a key subordinate revenue officer positioned below the Tehsildar in the state's land-revenue administration structure. The role involves supervising taluka-level revenue operations, maintaining land records, monitoring collection of land revenues, and assisting in dispute resolution relating to property and land matters. Candidates who qualify will serve across various tehsils in districts throughout Madhya Pradesh.
The Patwari recruitment drive, covering 200 openings, targets candidates for village-level revenue inspector positions. Patwaris are responsible for maintaining field books, recording land ownership details, updating mutation entries, and serving as the primary point of contact between the rural population and the revenue machinery. The position is among the most sought-after government jobs in the state due to its stability and direct public interface.
According to the notifications, the eligibility criteria for both posts generally require candidates to hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. For Naib Tehsildar, prior experience in revenue or administrative work may be given weightage during the selection process. The age limit for both examinations typically falls in the range of 21 to 40 years, with standard relaxations applicable for scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other reserved categories as per Madhya Pradesh government norms.
The selection process is expected to include a written examination conducted by the respective boards, followed by document verification. The MPSSSB notification specifies that the exam syllabus will cover subjects such as General Hindi, Indian History and Geography, General Knowledge, Mental Ability, and Elementary Mathematics, along with domain-specific questions relating to land revenue administration.
Application windows are currently open on both portals, and officials have urged candidates to apply before the deadlines. Fee concessions and submission guidelines have been outlined on the respective websites for different candidate categories.
