The Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Engineers for the year 2026, opening the application process for candidates across the state. The recruitment aims to fill vacant positions within the board's technical cadre, reinforcing its mandate to monitor and control pollution levels in industrial and urban zones throughout Madhya Pradesh.
According to the notification, candidates possessing a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology in relevant branches such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering from a recognised university will be eligible to apply. The age limit for applicants generally falls between 21 and 40 years, with relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per state government norms.
The selection process is expected to comprise a written examination followed by document verification and possibly an interview round, depending on the final recruitment rules framed by the board. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification for detailed information regarding exam pattern, marking scheme, and the number of vacancies declared under different engineering streams.
The application process is entirely online. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official MPPCB portal within the prescribed deadline. A detailed application fee structure has been specified, with lower fees for reserved category candidates and higher fees for general and unreserved applicants. Late applications will not be entertained, and the board has cautioned candidates against submitting incorrect or incomplete information.
This recruitment drive comes at a time when the Madhya Pradesh government has been emphasising stronger environmental governance, given the rapid industrialisation and urban expansion across districts like Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior. The Assistant Engineer posts will play a crucial role in implementing pollution control measures, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations in factories and construction projects.
