The Madhya Pradesh government has officially launched a major recruitment drive under the Anganwadi Services scheme, announcing 2,548 vacancies for Anganwadi Workers and Helpers across districts in the state. The recruitment notification was released recently by the Women and Child Development Department, inviting eligible candidates to submit their applications through the official online portal.
Anganwadis serve as the backbone of India's early childhood care and nutrition programme, operating under the Integrated Child Development Services framework. These centres provide supplementary nutrition, immunisation support, health check-ups, and pre-school education to children aged three to six years, alongside maternal health services for pregnant and nursing mothers. In Madhya Pradesh alone, thousands of Anganwadi centres function in both urban and rural areas.
The notification specifies that candidates who have passed at least the tenth standard examination are eligible to apply for the Worker position, while those who have completed the twelfth standard can apply for the Helper post. The upper age limit has been set according to state government norms, with relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per Madhya Pradesh reservation policy.
Candidates must register on the official recruitment portal and fill in the application form with personal details, educational qualifications, and district preferences. A non-refundable application fee is required, though it is waived for candidates from economically weaker sections and reserved categories. Applicants are advised to keep scanned copies of their photographs, signatures, certificates, and identity proof ready before starting the application process.
This recruitment drive comes at a time when the state government has emphasised strengthening maternal and child welfare infrastructure. Previous rounds of Anganwadi recruitment in Madhya Pradesh have drawn tens of thousands of applicants, making this one of the largest state-level hiring exercises for community health workers. The selection process is expected to be based on merit according to qualifications and examination scores, followed by document verification.
Government officials have stated that appointed Workers and Helpers will receive a monthly stipend along with Dearness Allowance and other benefits as per the central and state government guidelines for Anganwadi personnel. The exact pay scale may vary depending on whether the candidate is appointed on a regular or contractual basis.
