The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has issued a fresh recruitment notification for the post of Assistant Development Officer, announcing a total of 1,753 vacancies to be filled across various regions nationwide. The corporation has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens to apply for these positions, marking one of the largest recruitment drives undertaken by the public sector insurance giant in recent years.
Assistant Development Officers play a critical role in LIC's sales and marketing operations. In this position, ADOs are primarily responsible for managing and developing insurance business within their assigned territories. They supervise junior agents, conduct training sessions, monitor performance metrics, and ensure that the corporation achieves its sales targets at the grassroots level. The role requires individuals who combine leadership qualities with a strong understanding of insurance products and customer service.
According to the official notification, candidates possessing a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks are eligible to appear for the selection process. Certain categories of candidates, including those from reserved groups under government norms, may be eligible for relaxation in the educational qualification criteria as per prevailing rules.
The age limit for applicants has been set within the standard framework prescribed by LIC, with upper age relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and other categories as per central government guidelines. Candidates are advised to carefully review the official advertisement before filling out the application form to confirm their eligibility.
The selection process for the LIC ADO recruitment typically involves an online preliminary examination, followed by a main written test, personal interview, and document verification.
