Candidates aspiring to become teachers in Uttarakhand state schools have their final chance to apply as the registration deadline through the Pavitra Portal falls today. The state government has opened an ambitious recruitment drive for a total of 30,209 teaching vacancies across various educational levels, marking one of the largest teacher recruitment exercises in the state's recent history.
The Pavitra Portal, launched by the Uttarakhand government as a centralized digital platform for transparent public service recruitment, is accepting online applications for postgraduate teacher (PGT), primary teacher (PT), and high school teacher positions. The vacancies span across districts including Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Almora, Pauri, Champawat, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi.
Eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a bachelor's degree in education (B.Ed) along with a relevant subject specialization at the graduate and postgraduate levels. For primary teacher posts, candidates need at least a graduate degree and D.El.Ed or equivalent teaching qualification. Age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates as per state government norms.
The application process is entirely online. Candidates must visit the official Pavitra Portal, register with their mobile number and email ID, fill in personal and academic details, upload required documents including photographs and signatures, and pay the prescribed application fee. Fee waivers apply for SC, ST, and economically weaker section candidates. Late fee provisions may also be available for a limited window.
This recruitment drive was announced following a review of teacher shortages across Uttarakhand's government and aided schools. Education department officials indicated that the vacancies were identified after a comprehensive staffing audit conducted across all districts. The state had been facing a significant deficit of qualified teaching staff, particularly in remote and rural areas, prompting the administration to move quickly on filling these positions.
Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the portal closes. Technical glitches and server overload are common on last dates, and authorities have urged applicants not to wait until the final hours to submit their forms.
