The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has announced a major recruitment drive for the post of Constable, with over 5,000 vacancies likely to be filled across the state. The notification was released by the KSP, and candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications online through the official portal at ksp.karnataka.gov.in.
The recruitment is being conducted under the Karnataka Police Act and aims to strengthen the state police force by bringing in fresh manpower at the grassroots level. Constable is one of the most sought-after positions in the state police services, as it serves as the entry-level post for those looking to build a career in law enforcement.
Eligibility for the post requires candidates to have passed the 10th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized board. There is also an upper age limit prescribed, typically ranging between 18 and 27 years, though relaxations are available for reserved categories as per government norms. Candidates must also fulfill the physical standards and physical efficiency tests laid down by the KSP, including height, chest measurements for male candidates, and the ability to complete the prescribed physical tasks within the given time.
The selection process generally comprises multiple stages, starting with the written examination, followed by the physical efficiency test, physical measurement test, document verification, and finally, the medical examination. Candidates who clear each stage proceed to the next, and the final merit list is prepared based on combined performance across all stages.
This large-scale recruitment is seen as a significant step by the Karnataka government towards bolstering internal security and improving police presence across urban and rural areas of the state. With over 5,000 openings, the notification is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of applicants from every district of Karnataka.
Candidates are advised to visit the official KSP website regularly for updates on the exam schedule, admit card release, and other important notifications related to the recruitment process.
