Anganwadi centres serve as the backbone of India's Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, one of the world's largest welfare programmes aimed at improving nutritional and health outcomes for young children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Workers at these centres are responsible for supplementing feeding, basic healthcare check-ups, immunization support, and nutrition education in their local communities.
According to sources familiar with the process, the recruitment drive will fill posts that have remained vacant due to retirements, transfers, and the growing demand for childcare services in rural Karnataka. Candidates applying for the position of Anganwadi Worker are typically required to have completed at least class 10 from a recognized board, while those applying for the Helper post generally need a class 8 pass certificate.
