New Delhi: The Department of Posts has officially issued the notification for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026, opening nearly 29,000 positions for candidates across India. The massive recruitment drive is aimed at filling vacancies at post offices in rural and semi-urban areas, reinforcing the reach of India's postal network.
A total of 28,740 vacancies have been announced for various posts under the GDS scheme, including Delivery Boys, Desk Assistants, and Post Office Porters. The recruitment will be conducted in phases across multiple circles throughout the country. The selection process for GDS vacancies is based on merit derived from the scores obtained in the qualifying Class 10 or equivalent examination.
