Seoul — HL Klemove, the autonomous driving solutions arm of HL Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with Lenovo to co-develop high-performance computing (HPC) solutions tailored for the autonomous driving sector. The collaboration was announced here on Wednesday and signals both companies' intent to strengthen their positions in a rapidly expanding global market.
Under the agreement, the two firms will pool their respective strengths — HL Klemove's expertise in vehicle-level autonomous systems and Lenovo's deep capability in data-center-scale AI infrastructure — to create integrated computing platforms that can handle the immense data processing demands of self-driving cars.
The partnership is expected to target original equipment manufacturer (OEM) clients worldwide, with an emphasis on scaling production beyond pilot projects into mass-market deployment. Industry analysts note that the transition from prototype to large-scale manufacturing remains one of the toughest challenges in the autonomous vehicle space, and a joint effort between an automotive-software specialist and a global hardware provider could help close that gap.
