A significant wave of government job recruitment is sweeping across several Indian states, offering fresh opportunities to young people who have completed just their 10th or 12th-grade education. Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan stand out as the two states leading this initiative, with thousands of positions being filled through streamlined selection processes.

In Uttar Pradesh, the state government has announced a major recruitment drive where candidates who have passed their 12th standard from a recognized board are eligible to apply for various subordinate and clerical posts across multiple departments. The vacancies span roles in administration, revenue, local governance bodies, and support staff positions within state departments. The recruitment is expected to follow the standard written examination and document verification process conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and state-level recruitment boards.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan has announced an even more ambitious recruitment plan, with approximately 9,000 positions expected to be filled across various departments including police, education, health, and administrative services. Several of these posts are open to candidates who have passed the 10th standard, making them particularly accessible to youth from rural and semi-urban backgrounds who may not have pursued higher education.

The recruitment drives come at a time when unemployment among educated youth remains a pressing concern nationwide. Government jobs continue to be highly sought after due to their job security, fixed working hours, and structured career progression — factors that make them especially attractive during periods of economic uncertainty.

However, there is a growing undercurrent of skepticism among younger voters and job seekers about the fairness and transparency of these recruitment examinations. Many young people, particularly members of Generation Z, have voiced concerns about alleged irregularities, delays in result declarations, and questions surrounding merit-based selection in past recruitment cycles. Social media has become a frequent platform for these discussions, with hashtags and online communities tracking recruitment updates and sharing experiences about the application and examination process.

Despite these concerns, recruitment authorities in both states have stated that computer-based testing, video surveillance at examination centers, and strict vigilance mechanisms will be in place to ensure fairness. Officials emphasize that the simplified educational criteria are designed specifically to widen the pool of eligible candidates and provide a fair chance to youth from all sections of society.
