Government Job Bonanza: Multiple States Announce Over 61,000 Vacancies Across Income Tax, Teaching, and General Posts

A wave of government job notifications has swept across several Indian states, offering tens of thousands of employment opportunities to candidates from diverse educational backgrounds. In a major move, the Income Tax Department in Uttar Pradesh has announced recruitment for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) positions, with salaries reaching up to ₹1.4 lakh per annum. Candidates who have completed their senior secondary education are eligible to apply for these roles, which are considered among the most sought-after entry-level government positions due to their job security and structured career progression.

Meanwhile, Bihar has stepped up its recruitment drive with an ambitious plan to fill over 40,000 teaching positions across the state. The Bihar School Examination Board and relevant state education departments have issued the notification, opening doors for lakhs of educated youth who hold teaching qualifications such as B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. This is one of the largest single-state teaching recruitments in recent years and is expected to significantly address the shortage of qualified educators in rural and urban schools alike.

In yet another development tied to Bihar, over 11,000 general government posts have been advertised, with a 12th-pass qualification serving as the minimum eligibility criterion. These posts span various departments and are open to candidates across the state, providing a rare opportunity for non-graduates to secure stable employment.

Rajasthan also joined the recruitment frenzy by re-opening over 1,000 previously advertised government positions after certain procedural issues were addressed. The re-notification allows candidates who may have missed earlier deadlines to submit their applications within the revised timeline.

Together, these four recruitment drives represent more than 61,000 potential government jobs across three states, drawing interest from hundreds of thousands of applicants nationwide. Recruitment experts note that such a concentration of notifications in a short span is unusual and reflects the ongoing efforts of state governments to reduce unemployment and strengthen public-sector workforce capacity.
