India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has issued one of the most significant recruitment notifications this year, announcing 195 vacancies across various engineering disciplines. The opportunity is being hailed as a major boost for engineering graduates and postgraduates seeking careers in the nation's defence technology sector.
The notification covers multiple specialisations including Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, Civil and Electrical Engineering. Selected candidates will be posted at DRDO's research centres and laboratories spread across India, where scientists work alongside engineers to develop modern weapon systems, communication networks and other defence-related technologies.
Eligible candidates must hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in the relevant engineering field from a recognised university. Some positions require a minimum of two years of professional experience in the respective domain. The selection process will involve a written examination, personal interview and document verification stage. Candidates who clear all rounds will be offered positions under the Government of India's pay structure, with starting salaries beginning at approximately Rs 56,100 per month and rising with experience and seniority.
Industry experts view this recruitment drive as a critical step toward strengthening India's indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. DRDO has simplified the application process and is urging all eligible candidates to submit their online applications well before the deadline. The organisation has stated that shortlisted candidates will be notified through official channels and further instructions regarding examination dates and venue will follow shortly thereafter.
