The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially opened applications for one of the largest policing recruitment drives in recent years — the Delhi Police Head Constable posts under the SSC Combined Constable Examination (CCE) 2022 cycle. The notification released by the commission covers a massive number of vacancies across Delhi Police, making it one of the most sought-after government job opportunities for candidates seeking a career in law enforcement.

The recruitment process is being conducted under the SSC CCE exam, which consolidates multiple constable-level positions across various central armed police forces and the Delhi Police. For Delhi Police specifically, the Head Constable (Ministerial and General) categories together account for thousands of open positions. Candidates can apply online through the official SSC portal, and the application window remains open for several weeks as per the published schedule.

Thepay scale offered for the Head Constable position falls under Level 3 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a monthly salary range starting at approximately Rs 21,700 and extending up to Rs 69,100, plus dearness allowance, transport allowance, and other applicable benefits. With these allowances included, the total monthly remuneration can reach up to Rs 81,100, making it an attractive package for aspirants from across the country.

Eligibility criteria require candidates to have passed at least a graduation degree from a recognised university for the Ministerial stream, while the General category may accept 12th pass candidates depending on the specific vacancy notification. Physical fitness standards and height/chest measurements are also mandated, as is standard for police recruitment. The selection process typically involves a written examination, physical efficiency test, document verification, and a medical examination.

SSC has advised candidates to apply only through the official website and warned against falling prey to fraudulent agents promising guaranteed selections. The commission has also clarified that no application fee is required for certain categories as per government norms.
