The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially launched the recruitment process for 1,411 vacant positions of Constable in the Delhi Police force, sending waves of excitement among job aspirants across the country. The notification, which was recently made public, invites eligible candidates to submit their applications through the commission's official portal.
This recruitment drive represents one of the most significant law-enforcement hiring exercises undertaken by the SSC in recent years. With over fourteen hundred positions on offer, the opportunity is expected to draw lakhs of applicants from every corner of India, particularly from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab, where demand for Delhi Police jobs runs especially high.
Eligibility criteria under the current notification mandate that candidates must have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognized board or its equivalent. The upper age limit generally stands at 25 years for general category candidates, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per government norms. There is no minimum marks requirement specified beyond the qualifying threshold set by the respective educational boards.
Successful candidates will be placed in Group C, Non-Gazetted ranks and can expect a monthly salary falling within the pay matrix band of ₹21,700 to ₹69,100, along with aDear House Allowance and other permissible allowances that vary depending on posting location within the National Capital Territory. Total in-hand compensation for Delhi-based postings typically works out to between ₹35,000 and ₹45,000 per month after deductions.
The selection procedure will involve a multi-stage process beginning with a Computer-Based Test, followed by a Physical Efficiency Test and a Physical Measurement Test. Candidates who clear each stage will then undergo document verification before final merit ranking.
